A fix is now available for the User Profile Disk issue where a UPD does not correctly unmount at logoff causing temporarily profiles!
"...Addressed issue where the user profile disk (UPD) does not get unmounted when a user logs off. Therefore, users get temporary profiles and are not able to work with their own profiles during their next logon. The Event ID 20491 with a description of “Remote Desktop Services could not disconnect a user disk for the user account with a SID of <SID>. The error code is 0xAA.93” will be logged..."

The update is part of the October 2016 Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2
I'm having the same issue in Server 2016. Any idea if this is a known issue with Server 2016?
ReplyDeleteYea, I'm seeing this issue again on 2016 server.
DeleteRyan,
ReplyDeletethe fix was also added to Windows Server 2016 (not included in RTM) so you will need to download the cumulative rollup available for that via Windows Updates.
Freek,
ReplyDeleteEven after the October Quality Rollup we are experiencing a temp profile issue. I have found some sources saying it is due to the Click 2 Run Service holding open the UPD during the log off process. So the Profile never detaches and then the user gets a temp profile next logon. Do you know if Microsoft will address this issue in any updates to come?
I have 2016 also and having this issue as well. If anyone has a fix post it here! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes I'm looking also for a solution (Win 2012 R2 and 2016)
ReplyDeleteAnyone has fixed this error, please?
